Woolpack, Beckington, Somerset

The Woolpack Hotel Beckington near Bath is located in the Somerset village of Beckington only a few miles from Bath and Frome via the A36. The Woolpack Hotel, according to local tradition, was built as three cottages in 1581 and is situated in the pretty village of Beckington. By the time The Woolpack began its life as a coaching inn in the 1500s, fulling mills were established all along the banks of the River Frome and the cottage industry of spinning and weaving was thriving. This traditional country inn perfectly located for exploring the Somerset countryside and surrounding areas as Trowbridge, Bradford-onAvon, Warminster Shepton Mallet and Cathedral City Wells.

From the M4 take J17 following the A350 southbound. After Melksham take the A361 westbound, continue past Trowbridge and you will reach Beckington clearly signed from the A361 just before Frome. The Woolpack is in the centre of the village.

Accommodation

There are 11 comfortable en suite bedrooms, including a feature room and two large family rooms, all of which are tastefully furnished. All rooms have TV, telephone, hairdryer, iron/ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities. Free Wifi. 4 of our rooms are situated in the Attic where headroom is restricted.

Functions & Conferences

Both dining areas can be adapted to meet the needs for private functions and weddings. The Oak Dining Room, with inglenook fireplace and old world charm can seat up to 30 people (the room is divided by the fireplace). The Garden Room, is a semi-private room, and able to accommodate 40 people for a sit-down meal. These options provide the perfect setting for weddings, birthdays, private parties and business entertaining.

Restaurant & Bar Menus

Relax in the cosy bar with stone flagged floor, open fire and cosy armchairs, and enjoy some traditional bar snacks, light meals and a selection of real cask ales. There is a small patio and pretty garden outside for al fresco dining in the warmer months, for colder times we have a lovely open fire.

Enjoy some delicious food in the stylish Oak Dining Room. Here you will find a selection of traditional favourites on our seasonal menu, offering you a great choice of freshly prepared mouth-watering dishes, complemented by a fine wine list.
