The Castle and Ball Hotel Marlborough sits in the historic Wiltshire market town of Marlborough with easy access from the M4 via the A346. The Castle & Ball Hotel is an historic coaching inn dating from 15th century, situated in the centre of Britain's widest high street that of Malborough. It occupies a site which has had an inn standing on it since the 15th century. The hotel dates back to the Spanish Armada. From 1745 to 1763 it was called the Antelope and was renamed . Some of the hotel's surviving original oak timbers pre-dates the Spanish Armada. The hotel is in a perfect location for visits to the ancient sites of Avebury and Silbury Hill, Bowood House and Gardens. The Castle and Ball hotel remains a firm favourite with locals and travellers alike. The hotel has its own car park.
From J15 on the M4 take the A346. If travelling from Chippenham take the A4 or, from Amesbury, the A345.
The 35 well appointed bedrooms are all comfortably furnished and individual in design, including a number of grand feature rooms, and reflect the historic nature of the hotel. All the rooms have colour TV and tea & coffee making facilities. Free Wifi.
The Castle and Ball has excellent function and banqueting facilities, with two varying sizes of rooms, enabling us to cater for all occasions from business meetings, conferences, weddings, family celebrations and private dining. The Savernake Room can cater for up to 50 people, depending on your room layout and requirements. This room can hold up to 40 people for a sit down meal or 50 people in theatre style for a conference. We also have The Brasserie/Restaurant area which we can arrange for private dining, for a party up to 60 people.
Step off the high street and sink into our comfy sofas in our traditional beamed bar area. Here you can enjoy light bites, tasty meals and a selection of traditional ales from our imaginative menu. If the weather permits, you can dine on our terrace, next to the bustling high street, or in our walled beer garden at the rear of the hotel. During the winter months we have a roaring open fire to add to the cosy and relaxed atmosphere.
The attractive Brasserie Restaurant with wooden floors, offers an extensive, seasonal menu with a wide selection of modern and traditional dishes and daily "specials" to suit everyone complemented with specially selected fine wines and speciality coffees.
